Sundays at the SHIRe
Open Meditation for the San Juan Islands Community
Calling all Meditators: Sundays are open practice days at the SHIRe.
Living Wisdom Project invites our island community to gather in the peaceful, forested setting of the SHIRe for meditation, stillness, and shared presence.
We recognize a growing need for a local meditation community and are ready to host a weekly gathering to benefit all. Formerly Sakya Kachod Choling of the Sakya Society (locally known as the Gompa on Bullfrog Rd) this land has been blessed and is ready to hold the community again. We are not attempting to be or replace the Buddhist retreat, but to carry on a legacy of dedication to contemplative practice.
All meditation traditions and personal practices will be welcome. Whether you have practiced for many years, are just beginning, or simply feel drawn to spend some quiet time in community, there will be a place for you here. No particular spiritual belief, lineage, or experience will be expected.
Commencing: July 5th

Men’s Council Circle
By invitation. The Men’s Council Circle at SHIRe offers a grounded space for connection, reflection, and honest conversation. Each two-hour gathering moves through informal social time, a welcome and somatic connection practice, a quiet nature sit-spot, council sharing, prompted discussion, and closing social time.
Participants are invited to listen deeply, speak from personal experience, and witness one another without judgment, advice, or the need to fix. The circle is intended to foster meaningful connection with self, community, and the natural world.
